About Lincoln L Office

Design

The Lincoln L writing desk by Capital has a quiet, confident presence. Its long, low silhouette stretches to about 86.6 inches wide, with a height just under 39.4 inches and a depth of roughly 29.5 inches. The lines are clean, almost architectural, with the structure in wood and a sideboard running neatly along one side. Nothing is loud here. Profiles and handles in metal trace the form with a slim, precise outline, giving the piece a measured, contemporary character.

A marble insert sets a calm focal point on the surface. It breaks the expanse of wood in a simple, graphic way and hints at the desk’s role: a place for focused work, considered writing, or a laptop that never quite takes over the room. The overall impression is disciplined, but not severe. It looks designed to stay in view, not pushed against a wall and forgotten.

Materials & Build

Lincoln L is built on a wooden structure, with wood finishes that feel deliberate rather than decorative. Metal profiles and handles add definition and durability where it matters most, framing edges, guiding the hand. The marble insert introduces a different tactile note, cool and solid, without overwhelming the piece.

At around 276 pounds with a volume of about 35.3 cubic feet, it is clearly a substantial desk, not a light temporary solution. The composition of wood, metal, and marble sits comfortably in the Capital collection, aligning with a language of solid materials and clear geometry.

Comfort & Use

On a daily level, the desk is about space and order. The generous width allows a laptop, documents, and personal objects to be laid out without crowding. The sideboard with three shelves keeps essentials close but not scattered across the work surface.

The height feels natural for writing or computer work with an office chair, and the clean underside keeps the area visually open. It is the kind of piece that supports long stretches of concentration without drawing attention to itself.

Placement & Longevity

Lincoln L works best where it can be seen from more than one angle: a home office, an executive space, or a study corner that opens onto a living area. The sideboard element helps it function almost like a low wall, gently defining a work zone without closing off the room.

Over time, the combination of wood, metal, and marble should age with character rather than simply wear. The design, introduced in Capital’s Writing Desks 2016 collection by Boatto Martino Studio, is straightforward enough to sit alongside changing pieces around it. But it has enough presence to stay in place when everything else moves.
