Folio

About Folio

Design

Folio is a desk that keeps the gesture simple: one continuous surface, curved into a clean, functional shape. The lines are quiet but deliberate, with just enough lift at the edges to make the profile feel lighter than it is. And because the form is so reduced, the material becomes the main visual. The desk reads as transparent, then the curve catches the light and it suddenly has presence.

Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, the proportions feel considered without turning formal. There’s no extra framing, no decorative hardware, no distractions. It’s a straightforward object that still looks precise from every angle.

Materials & build

The entire desk is made from a single sheet of transparent extralight curved glass, 15 mm thick (about 0.6″). That one-piece construction is the point. It allows the curves to stay fluid and continuous, and it highlights the clarity of the glass instead of hiding it behind joints or supports.

The details are subtle. The edges and bends do the work, defining the structure while keeping the surface visually open. Folio is offered as a standard piece and is not available custom made. Configuration FOL01 measures approximately 52.4″ long, 24.8″ wide, and 29.5″ high.

Comfort

Glass can feel crisp, and Folio leans into that. The surface is smooth and clean to the touch, with a generous span for a laptop, writing, and a few essentials. The curved form creates a natural sense of boundary at the sides, which helps the work area feel contained without feeling closed in.

But it’s not trying to be soft. This is a desk for people who like a neat setup and appreciate the clarity of their workspace. The experience is about visual calm and ease of use, not padding or bulk.

Placement & lifestyle

Because it’s transparent, Folio can sit in a room without visually crowding it. It works especially well in spaces where heavier furniture would feel too dense. And it pairs easily with many chair styles, from upholstered to more architectural silhouettes, since the desk doesn’t compete for attention.

In a home office, it brings a sharp, modern note. In a studio or an open-plan living space, it keeps the sightlines clean and lets surrounding pieces speak.

Longevity

Folio is built around a material chosen for its inherent stability and its ability to stay visually fresh. Extralight glass keeps the look clear and bright, and the single-sheet construction avoids the complexity that can date a piece over time.

It’s a desk meant to be lived with. The appeal isn’t trend-driven. It’s simply a well-resolved glass form from glasitalia, designed to look right in a space for years, not seasons.
