About Spacey Table Lamp
Design
The Spacey Lunar Table Lamp is a study in restraint: a single sphere, quietly commanding at 11.6 in in diameter. Its form is simple, almost archetypal, and that’s the point. The marbled surface hints at depth, like a sky pulled close. It sits with confidence on a room’s edge, not loud, just sure of itself. Designed by Czech talent Lukáš Novák, it brings a calm, lunar presence without fuss or theatrics.
Seen up close, the globe invites a second look. And sometimes a third. Patterns drift across the surface as if suspended, giving the piece an orbital feel that suits its name. In a collection or on its own, the lamp reads as an object first, a light source second—exactly what Lasvit intended.
Materials & Build
The glass is lithyalin, a historic Northern Bohemian technique revived for today. It looks like gemstone, yet it’s glass—richly veined, beautifully dense, and subtly translucent. The process dates back more than two centuries, now brought forward by Novák with sensitivity to origin and craft. Each piece carries slight variations, from tone shifts to tiny bubbles, the natural signature of handwork.
A polished brass frame grounds the globe with a clean, warm accent. The metal has a refined sheen without tipping into glare, complementing the lithyalin’s depth rather than competing with it. Nothing feels overworked. Joints are crisp, edges honest, the whole build solid in the hand and made to be lived with.
Comfort
Light from Spacey Lunar is gentle by nature. The lithyalin surface softens the glow, diffusing it into a calm halo that plays well with evening rituals and unhurried moments. It’s the kind of ambient light that settles a room—easy on the eyes, easy on the mind. Not dramatic, just quietly present when needed.
Placement & Lifestyle
On a bedside table, it sets a relaxed tone. On a console, it acts like sculpture that happens to light up. It fits modern interiors as comfortably as classic ones, thanks to the understated geometry and mineral-like glass. Try it in a study, a reception area, or a living room corner where texture matters. But it doesn’t ask for a stage; it earns attention by being steady and composed.
As a statement from Lasvit, Spacey Lunar works alone or paired, and it layers well with other fixtures. Even off, it keeps the mood intact. On, it rounds out the space with quiet clarity.
Longevity
Glass and brass age with character. The lithyalin globe holds its depth over time, while the polished brass can develop a soft patina that many prefer. Finishes are resilient and easy to care for with a light, dry wipe. There’s no pretense here—just good materials, well considered, built to last and to still feel right years from now. And because each lamp is hand-finished, it keeps a unique identity that won’t feel dated or duplicated.
