About Ludwig Sculpture

Design

The Ludwig Large Sculpture by Lasvit balances past and future with quiet confidence. Designed by Maurizio Galante, it references the poise of neoclassical chandeliers, then strips them back to sleek, streamlined contours. Industrial glass tubes create an airy body that feels sculpted yet unforced. The result is striking and modern, but never loud. It reads as a clear, architectural gesture—confident in scale, restrained in detail.

This Clear / Large variant sits at the heart of the collection and shows its intent with clarity. Two shape variations let a project lean classical or sharper, without losing the family’s calm, contemporary voice.

Materials & Build

Precision glass tubes form the structure, held by a polished stainless steel frame. The composition is clean and consistent, with metalwork that supports rather than competes. Handmade glass may reveal subtle bubbles and gentle shade shifts—natural signs of the making process and part of the piece’s character.

Dimensions are substantial yet balanced: approximately 53.5 inches in diameter and 49.2 inches in height, with a weight around 507 pounds. The clear glass keeps the volume light to the eye, while the steel brings stability and crisp reflections. It feels engineered to endure, finished to be seen up close.

Comfort & Presence

Ludwig carries presence without pressure. The cadence of parallel glass tubes gives the eye a place to rest, creating visual comfort in large rooms and open plans. From a distance the silhouette reads as one calm form. Up close, the rhythm and spacing invite a slower look.

It’s sculptural, yes, but it doesn’t dominate the conversation. The piece holds a room with clarity and ease, letting furnishings and architecture breathe around it.

Placement & Lifestyle

This lighting sculpture sits naturally in grand entries, galleries, and hospitality atriums, and it suits residential spaces with scale. It pairs well with stone, plaster, wood, or polished concrete—materials that welcome its clear volume and refined metal sheen. By day, the glass catches ambient light and reflects the setting. By night, it becomes a calm focal point for gatherings and quiet moments alike.

Think of it as an anchor for generous spaces. The form sets the tone, while the transparency keeps the mood open and inviting.

Longevity

The polished stainless steel frame is resilient, and the industrial glass tubes are made to keep their clarity with simple care. A light dusting maintains the finish; there’s little to age out or go out of style. The language—historic proportions distilled to a modern line—gives Ludwig staying power.

For collectors and design-led projects, the Lasvit approach shows here: honest materials, rigorous build, and a form that remains relevant as spaces evolve.
