About Growing Vases Sculpture
Design
Growing Vases by Lasvit brings a quiet twist to the familiar ritual of flowers and glass. Nendo flips the idea on its head: pipes become flowers and branches, and glass becomes the vessel that seems to bloom from them. The composition reads like a small glass grove, abstract yet instantly legible, playful without losing restraint. It feels light in spirit, not in scale. The “Base Size Sculpture” anchors a room and sets a tone—curious, modern, and a touch surreal.
There is no fuss in the silhouette. Lines rise, split, and gather again, as if sketched in air. The piece rewards a second look, then a third, but never begs for attention. It simply stands, self-assured, and lets the eye wander.
Materials & Build
Czech Bohemian glass shapes the work, sandblasted to soften glare and lend a velvety depth. The finish tempers reflections and brings out the contours of each blown form. As with all handmade glass, subtle bubbles and tone shifts may appear; they are part of the craft and the charm. The frame is lacquered in glossy white, RAL 9010, a clean counterpoint that lifts the glass without competing with it.
Scaled for presence, the Base Size measures approximately 40.2 inches in diameter and 43.7 inches in height, with a weight of about 77.2 pounds. It feels substantial and planted, yet visually open. A single shape is offered, refined to keep the concept pure.
Atmosphere & Comfort
This is sculpture that calms a space. The sandblasted surface diffuses light in the room, softening edges and creating a gentle backdrop to conversation. Nothing harsh, nothing flashy. Just a steady, quiet glow to the eye as daylight moves or as ambient lighting shifts through the evening.
It invites a slower look. And it rewards it—layer by layer, branch by branch, the rhythm becomes clear and easy to live with.
Placement & Lifestyle
The piece stands well in an entry, a living room, or a gallery-like corridor. It carries in hospitality settings too—a lounge, a private dining room, a boutique display—where scale matters but noise does not. Pair it with natural woods and stone for warmth, or with concrete and lacquer for crisp contrast. It plays well with quiet palettes and gives minimal interiors a point of view.
Growing Vases holds its ground as a focal point, yet it leaves negative space around it. That makes placement flexible and styling simple.
Longevity
Handmade Bohemian glass and a lacquered frame keep the piece resilient in daily use. Dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals, and treat it with the same care given to fine glassware. Slight variations in shade or tiny bubbles are natural and will remain part of its character over time.
Lasvit and Nendo focus on clarity of idea and clarity of make. That restraint gives Growing Vases lasting relevance—less about trend, more about a well-resolved form that continues to feel fresh, season after season.
