About Duna Pendant
Design
The Duna Base Size Pendant takes its cue from dune formations, where order and irregularity live side by side. Two asymmetrical glass volumes intersect to create a single, three‑dimensional silhouette that feels fluid from every angle. The striated surface works like a quiet topography, catching light, shifting tone, and revealing subtle details as the viewer moves. It is sculpted but not showy. And it reads differently by day and by night, which keeps the piece engaging without trying too hard.
Materials & Build
Crafted in clear crystal glass with a transparent anodized aluminum alloy frame, the pendant balances visual lightness with physical presence. The handmade glass carries delicate striations and may include small bubbles—natural signatures of the process that add depth to the surface. At approximately 24.6 inches high, 10.2 inches long, and 8.1 inches wide, it holds a confident profile without overwhelming the setting. Weight is about 22 pounds, giving reassuring stability once installed. Lasvit offers this design in a single, base-size silhouette that preserves the intent of the original form.
Light & Comfort
Narrowly directed light sources project through the body of the glass, illuminating the entire element from within. The mass of crystal amplifies the beam, then disperses it across the striated surface for a refined interplay of reflection and refraction. Highlights sharpen along the edges, while softer gradients appear in the curves. The effect is calm, not flashy—bright enough to define the geometry, gentle enough to sit comfortably over a table or in a corridor. And because the glow is carried by the glass itself, the piece looks as considered unlit as it does at full brightness.
Placement & Lifestyle
Duna suits spaces that appreciate form as much as function. It works over a kitchen island, anchoring a dining setting, or drawing focus in an entry. One pendant creates a clean statement; a row builds quiet rhythm without visual clutter. The clear glass keeps sightlines open and blends with both warm wood tones and cooler, minimal palettes. In hospitality settings, it adds a decisive point of interest without competing with the architecture. At home, it feels composed in both contemporary and transitional rooms. Simply put, it adapts.
Longevity
Quality materials and a restrained concept allow the design to age well. Crystal glass and anodized aluminum are resilient, and their finishes are meant to be lived with, not protected from. Light dusting keeps the striations crisp. As each piece is handmade, minor variations in shade and surface are expected and respected—they give the pendant its one-of-a-kind presence. Lasvit’s Duna doesn’t chase trends; it relies on clarity of form, honest construction, and a consistent lighting experience over time.
