Prism Glass Wardrobe

About Prism Glass Wardrobe

Design

Prism Glass Wardrobe reads more like architecture than furniture. Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for glasitalia, it uses clear planes and sharp geometry to turn everyday storage into a quiet display. The precision bevelling catches light, then bends it. And that small shift changes the whole room, especially as the day moves on.

There’s an intentional openness to it. Clothing and objects don’t disappear behind opaque doors; they sit in view, subtly framed by the glass volume. It’s not showy, but it does make what’s inside look considered.

Materials & Build

The structure is made in transparent extralight tempered glass, 12 mm thick (about 0.47 in), thermo-welded for a clean, continuous feel. The doors use 8 mm tempered glass (about 0.31 in), still substantial, but lighter in hand. At the base, an extralight mirror adds depth and a sharper reflection, so the piece feels even more dimensional from certain angles.

Details stay crisp. The coat hanger bar and hardware are polished steel, chosen for its clarity against the glass. Doors open with glass handles, so the touchpoints remain consistent with the overall look.

Comfort in Use

Daily interaction is surprisingly smooth for something so precise. The doors close with a blue-motion soft closure, so there’s no snap or clang, just a controlled finish. But the real comfort comes from visibility: outfits are easy to scan, and accessories are easier to keep in mind when they’re not hidden away.

On the mirrored base sits a small bench, made in the same material and with the same features as the storage unit. It gives a practical pause point for setting down a bag, laying out a jacket, or taking a moment before stepping out.

Placement & Lifestyle

This wardrobe suits spaces where order matters and light is part of the design. It works beautifully in a dressing room or bedroom that can handle reflective surfaces, and it can also live in a generous entry space where outerwear becomes part of the atmosphere.

Dimensions keep it grounded. The main wardrobe (PRW01) measures about 39.37 in long, 23.62 in deep, and 76.77 in high. The smaller unit (PRW02) is about 33.86 in long, 17.32 in deep, and 7.09 in high.

Longevity

Tempered glass and polished steel are resilient materials when treated with care, and here they’re used with discipline. The construction focuses on clean joins and stable planes, which helps the piece stay visually sharp over time.

Prism Glass Wardrobe is not available custom made, which keeps the design true to its original proportions and detailing. It’s a specific idea, executed with consistency, meant to look as exact years from now as it does on day one.
