Verglas

About Verglas

Design

Verglas is a dining table drawn in boxed, architectural volumes. The silhouette is clean and direct, with a strong sense of mass even though it’s made entirely in glass. The top reads as a long parallelepiped, open on two sides, and held by two crisp “T” shaped bases. Nothing feels added for show. It’s all proportion and line.

Designed by Piero Lissoni, the piece keeps the focus on formal purity. And the geometry does the heavy lifting: wide planes, sharp edges, and a composition that looks calm from a distance but becomes more graphic as you get closer.

Materials & Build

The table is constructed in 10 mm (0.39″) thick transparent extralight tempered glass. Glasitalia builds it through a complex gluing process that allows the glass to form boxed volumes rather than simple flat panels. That construction is what gives Verglas its distinct volume and visual density without moving into decorative territory.

The extralight glass keeps the look clear and neutral, with minimal color cast. It stays focused on the shape of the table itself and the way light passes through and around the structure.

Comfort

As a dining table, Verglas is made for everyday seating and a generous place setting. The height is 30.3″, a familiar proportion that works comfortably with standard dining chairs. The “T” bases create a stable support for the top and leave the overall profile visually open.

The surface is glass, so it feels precise and smooth to the touch. It suits those who like a table that stays visually crisp, with edges and reflections that keep the room looking sharp.

Placement & Lifestyle

Two sizes are available. VER01 measures 118.1″ long by 39.4″ wide, while VER02 measures 98.4″ long by 35.4″ wide. Both share the same 30.3″ height, making it easy to choose based on room scale and how many people typically gather around the table.

Verglas works best where it can be seen from multiple angles. It pairs naturally with upholstered seating, dark woods, or tonal interiors, but it can also sharpen a softer space by adding clear structure.

Longevity

The tempered glass construction is made for strength, and the boxed geometry adds an assured, resilient presence. It’s a table that doesn’t rely on trend details, so it holds its ground as the room evolves around it.

Verglas is not available custom made, so the proportions stay exactly as intended. That consistency is part of the appeal: a defined object, built to look the same years from now as it does on day one.
