About Prism Mirror tavolo
Design
Prism Mirror tavolo reads like a simple rectangle at first glance. Then the room starts moving across it. The mirrored surface catches light, walls, and people, and it does it with a crisp, controlled shine. And because the top is transparent extralight glass with silver plating, the reflections feel clean rather than heavy.
The detail that makes it feel finished is the edge work. The glass is ground and bevelled so the perimeter holds a precise line and throws back a little extra sparkle. It’s not loud. But it is hard to ignore once it’s in place.
Materials & build
The top is made from 12 mm glass, about 0.47 inches thick, in transparent extralight silver plated mirror. That thickness gives the table a confident presence without looking bulky. The mirror effect isn’t treated like an add-on; it’s the point of the piece, and the clarity of the glass keeps it looking sharp.
The bases are fixed to the top with metal plates and screws. It’s an honest, straightforward construction choice, and it keeps the structure tight. Prism Mirror tavolo is not available custom made, so what’s offered is meant to be taken as a complete, resolved design.
Comfort at the table
This configuration measures about 94.5 inches long, 35.4 inches wide, and 28 inches high. The proportions suit long dinners and meetings that run late. There’s generous surface area for place settings, serving pieces, and the everyday scatter that happens when people actually use a table.
And comfort here is also visual. The mirrored top brightens what’s around it, which can make a dining area feel more open, especially in lower light. It brings attention to the objects placed on it, so styling can stay minimal.
Placement & lifestyle
In a dining room, it pairs well with upholstered chairs, leather, or simple wood frames. The mirror finish adds contrast without asking the rest of the space to compete. In a cleaner interior, it can read almost architectural; in a warmer home, it becomes the one polished note that lifts the room.
Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka for Glas Italia, it carries a distinct point of view but stays practical enough for daily use. It’s the kind of table that looks composed even when the room is lived in.
Longevity
Glass and mirror demand a little care, but they also hold their look over time when treated well. The bevelled edges help the top feel protected, not raw. And the metal-plate fixing system is made to keep the bases secure and aligned.
Prism Mirror tavolo rewards routine maintenance: keep the surface clean, wipe it down, and let the mirror do what it does best—reflect a space that changes throughout the day, without losing its own clarity.
