The Crystal Stool reads as a clean, confident gesture: a simple cylinder, fully transparent, with details handled quietly. There’s no extra hardware on display and no visual noise. The proportions are compact and deliberate at about 12.6 inches in diameter and 18.9 inches high, so it feels substantial without taking over a room. Designed by Philippe Starck, it has that familiar restraint—an object that doesn’t ask for attention, but keeps it anyway.

Materials & build

This piece is made entirely from UV bonded 24 mm tempered transparent glass. That specification matters, because it’s not just about clarity; it’s about structure. The manufacturing is complex and the result is an object with high load resistance, with joins and edges resolved to look seamless rather than engineered. And at the base, discreet mirror-polished stainless-steel feet add a precise finish while keeping the glass off the floor.

Comfort

As a stool, comfort here is about stability and the feel of the surface, not softness. The seating area is smooth and firm, with a cool touch that reads modern and intentional. It suits short sits, quick conversations, a moment to pull on shoes.
