About Augusta Chair
Design
The Augusta chair by Capital shows a quiet confidence. Its silhouette is clean and well-measured, with a backrest that feels substantial without looking heavy. The eye is drawn to the metallic insert placed on the outer shell of the back, a clear visual signature. It breaks the surface in just the right way, adding a modern note that reads as considered, not showy.
At around 32.3 inches high, 24.4 inches wide, and 22.8 inches deep, the chair holds a comfortable presence at the table. Lines stay fluid and simple, so it works easily alongside different table shapes and interior styles, from more formal dining rooms to relaxed open spaces.
Materials & Build
The structure is anchored by wood, giving the chair a reassuring solidity. Leather or fabric upholstery wraps the seat and back, while the metal insert on the rear shell adds a subtle contrast of textures. Nothing feels accidental; the mix of materials is tidy and intentional.
Designed by Boatto Martino Studio for the 2022 Chairs and Stools collection, the piece is built with long-term use in mind. At about 30.9 pounds, it has a weight that signals a robust frame and careful construction, not a lightweight piece that will shift at every move.
Comfort
Comfort sits at the center of the design. The seat height of roughly 18.9 inches aligns with a classic dining posture, so legs rest naturally and the table feels at the right level. The backrest rises to support the upper body, encouraging a relaxed, upright position.
The metallic insert is not only aesthetic. It reinforces the shell, helping the chair feel steady when someone leans back or shifts during a long meal or meeting. The overall impression is of a seat that invites lingering rather than rushing away.
Placement & Lifestyle
Augusta adapts easily to different settings. Around a dining table, it brings a composed, contemporary note without competing with other pieces. In a meeting space or private office, the mix of wood, upholstery, and metal reads as professional yet welcoming.
With a volume of about 17.7 cubic feet, the chair has enough presence to stand alone at a desk or console, but it still pairs cleanly in multiples. The palette of wood, leather, fabrics, and metals lets it move across interiors, from warm, tactile schemes to more minimal compositions.
Longevity
Durability is built into the concept. Solid materials, a reinforced back shell, and a well-balanced frame help the chair handle daily use, not just occasional occasions. Edges are considered, surfaces are designed to stay visually composed as they age.
Over time, the finishes and upholstery choices will define how each piece evolves, but the underlying structure remains the constant. Augusta is made to stay in the room, not rotate out with the next season of furniture.
