SiO2 Bridge

About SiO2 Bridge

Design

SiO2 Bridge is a series of low tables, a console, and a desk, all built around one clear idea: a simple bridge form with clean, continuous lines. It reads as architectural without trying too hard. The silhouette stays quiet, but the shape has presence, especially when the light hits the glass and the edges hold their line.

Carlo Tamborini keeps the look controlled and modern. And because the proportions shift across the series, the same design language can feel compact and graphic or longer and more directional, depending on the size chosen.

Materials & build

Each piece is made in coupled laminated glass, finished in either glossy lacquered glass or opaque lacquered glass. The lacquer brings depth to the surface, while the laminated construction gives the table its visual solidity. It looks crisp and polished, with that particular clarity only glass can deliver.

There’s also the option to combine colors freely between the upper side and the lower side. It’s a smart detail. The piece can stay tonal and understated, or show a subtle contrast when viewed from different angles. But the collection is not available custom made, so the choice stays within the offered finishes and color combinations.

Comfort and daily use

This is glass that’s meant to be used, not just admired. The bridge profile creates open space underneath, which keeps legroom feeling easy and makes the larger formats read lighter than their dimensions suggest. But it still feels substantial once in place.

The desk-height versions are designed for a clean work setup, with a surface that feels precise and organized. The lower formats suit casual, everyday use, where a wipe-down is part of the routine and the glossy or opaque finish becomes part of the room’s texture.

Placement and lifestyle

The range covers several footprints. There’s a square low table at 43.3″ x 43.3″ x 11.8″, and a wider option at 51.2″ x 27.6″ x 11.8″. For slimmer spaces, the console format measures 51.2″ x 13.8″ x 29.5″.

The desk configurations come in three lengths: 70.9″ x 31.5″ x 28.3″, 63.0″ x 31.5″ x 28.3″, and 55.1″ x 31.5″ x 28.3″. In an office, it reads sharp and minimal. In an open-plan living space, it can act as a refined divider without closing the room down. Glas Italia positions SiO2 Bridge as a piece that belongs wherever clean structure and color discipline matter.

Longevity

The appeal here doesn’t rely on trend-driven details. It’s a straightforward form, executed in lacquered laminated glass that holds its look over time. And the two-tone option helps it stay relevant as a room shifts, since the piece can echo new upholstery, art, or finishes without needing a redesign.

SiO2 Bridge asks for a bit of care, like any glass surface. But that’s part of the point: it stays looking intentional, and it keeps the room feeling composed.
