About Grand Console
Design
The Grand console by Capital is a clean, contemporary piece that keeps focus on proportion and line. Designed in 2018 by Boatto Martino Studio, it is conceived as a quiet presence rather than a showpiece. The form is simple and linear, with a generous surface that feels considered, not bulky.
At around 63 inches wide and about 17.7 inches deep, it offers space for display without overwhelming a room. The height, between roughly 29.5 and 32.7 inches depending on version, aligns naturally with seating and architectural elements, which makes the console feel at ease in both open and compact spaces.
Materials & Build
The structure is fully wooden, giving the Grand console a solid, grounded character. Metal legs lift the volume, bringing a lighter note and a subtle contrast between warm and cool materials. Nothing is decorative for its own sake. Every junction shows the brand’s experience in woodworking and metalworking.
The finishes are offered in wood and metal, allowing the piece to sit closer to a calm, tonal look or a more graphic one. Weight is substantial, around 137 to 150 pounds, which reads as reassuring rather than heavy-handed.
Use & Experience
This is a console meant to be lived with. The height keeps objects and everyday essentials within easy reach, whether behind a sofa or along a wall. The surface depth is practical: enough room for lighting, books, or a few key pieces, without encroaching into circulation.
There are no tricks or complicated features. The comfort here is visual and functional — the feeling that everything sits where it should, and works the way it should.
Placement & Lifestyle
Grand is available in a back sofa version and a wall version, which opens up different ways of reading a space. Placed against a wall, it acts as a clear architectural line, anchoring art, mirrors, or lighting. Used behind a sofa, it helps define zones in open-plan rooms and gives a natural landing place for objects.
In both roles, the console supports a composed, uncluttered lifestyle. It does not dictate a style; it works quietly with what is already there.
Presence Over Time
Built around a wooden structure with metal legs and finishes in wood and metals, the Grand console is made to feel stable over the years. Its 0.7 cubic meter shipping volume — about 24.7 cubic feet — also hints at the substance of the piece once in place.
Nothing about it is tied to a passing look. Capital has kept the design straightforward so it can move from one setting to another and still make sense, long after trends shift.
