About The Dark Side of the Moon
Design
The Dark Side of the Moon is a low table with a clean bridge shape that reads graphic and calm at the same time. The silhouette is simple, but it has presence. It sits low and long, with a continuous line from top to side, so the whole piece feels like one gesture rather than a top placed on a base.
There are two finishes to choose from. One leans into stripes, crisp and intentional. The other softens the look with faded colours, more gradual and atmospheric. Both versions keep the form understated, letting the colour treatment do the talking without turning it into a statement piece that takes over the room.
Materials & Build
glasitalia makes this table in laminated extralight glass. The glass has a refined clarity, and the lamination gives it structure while maintaining that crisp, precise edge that makes glass furniture feel so modern. The top and sides carry a multicoloured finish created through a sophisticated technical process. It’s not a surface print that stops at the edge; the colour belongs to the piece, continuing across the planes.
Designed by Piero Lissoni, the construction feels deliberately edited. No extra elements, no visual noise. And because it’s not available custom made, the focus stays on the exact proportions and finish as conceived.
Everyday Use
At 61 inches long, 21.7 inches wide, and 11.8 inches high, it’s sized for real living. It can take the center position in front of a sofa without feeling bulky, and the low height keeps sightlines open across a seating area. Magazines, a tray, a few objects, a drink—everything lands where it should.
But it also works when kept more minimal. Glass has a way of making a room feel lighter, and this piece keeps that advantage while still offering a confident footprint.
Placement & Lifestyle
The Dark Side of the Moon suits interiors that like contrast: soft upholstery against crisp glass, warm woods near cooler tones, matte finishes next to something with depth. The striped version can echo linear architecture and structured layouts. The faded option plays well with layered textiles and more relaxed spaces.
It’s a natural fit for living rooms, lounges, and reception areas that want a coffee table with personality, without relying on heavy materials or decorative hardware.
Longevity
Glass can feel delicate when it’s not engineered properly. Here, the laminated extralight build and considered geometry make it feel resilient for day-to-day use, while the multicoloured finish brings lasting visual interest.
