About Specchio di Venere
Design
Specchio di Venere is a collection of tables and consoles with an easy, irregular silhouette. The top has a soft, asymmetrical outline and a rounded edge that keeps the profile light. Thin glass legs sit quietly underneath, giving the piece a floating look without trying too hard. Designed by Massimiliano Locatelli of CLS Architetti, it reads modern but not cold.
Each piece stands well on its own. And when placed close together, multiple elements can create a larger surface with a more architectural presence. The effect is intentional, not fussy.
Materials & Build
The tops are made in a special fused silvered glass, with a reflective depth that changes through the day. The legs are blown glass and always match the finish of the top, so the whole form feels continuous. Details stay restrained: no heavy frames, no visible distractions, just glass done with precision.
Glas Italia keeps the concept clear and consistent across the series. Specchio di Venere is not available custom made, which helps preserve the proportion and finish the designer intended.
Comfort in Use
This is glass that invites everyday contact. The rounded perimeter softens the edge in hand, and it makes moving around the table feel more relaxed. The thin legs keep knee space open and the visual footprint minimal. But the surface still has presence, especially in the silvered finish, which adds a subtle sense of depth rather than a mirror-like glare.
Placement & Lifestyle
There are higher and lower formats suited to different rooms and routines. Sizes include approximately 52.0 x 26.4 x 28.3 inches, 48.8 x 58.7 x 28.3 inches, and 53.1 x 22.4 x 28.3 inches, plus lower versions at about 15.0 inches high in the same footprints. In a dining room, it holds its own against upholstered seating and warm woods. In a living space, it brings a cleaner line and a bit of reflected light without taking over.
Some configurations are available for quick ship: SDV02, SDV03, and SDV04.
Longevity
The appeal here is in the fundamentals: a strong concept, consistent materials, and finishes that won’t feel trend-bound next year. Glass can be lived with when it’s built well, and the blown legs and fused top are meant to look good from every angle. Specchio di Venere is the kind of piece that stays relevant as the rest of the room evolves.
