About Robotin
Design
Robotin is a collection by Patricia Urquiola that plays with reflection and pattern without feeling loud. The surfaces are double-sided mirrored glass, finished with a field of round transparent marks. The effect recalls a perforated metal sheet, but in a cleaner, more graphic way. And because the marks sit within the mirror, the pattern reads differently as light shifts through the day.
The look stays precise from every angle. Edges feel crisp and intentional, and the mirrored finish keeps the overall volume visually light. It’s an object that can hold its own, but it doesn’t try to dominate a room.
Materials & build
Glasitalia makes Robotin entirely in tempered glass, with UV bonding throughout. That matters in a piece like this: the structure has to feel secure, and the joins need to stay clean. The mirrored glass is double-sided, so the reflection is part of the design, not an afterthought.
Robotin is not available custom made. It’s offered in defined configurations, including approximately 52.0 x 16.1 x 31.1 in (ROB01) and 64.6 x 20.1 x 28.0 in (ROB02). More compact options include 22.0 x 16.1 x 21.7 in (ROB03), plus lower, wider tables at 44.1 x 44.1 x 13.8 in (ROB04) and 47.2 x 33.5 x 13.8 in (ROB05). QUICK SHIP applies to ROB01 through ROB05.
Comfort, in the way it’s used
This collection is about ease. The glass surfaces read smooth and uninterrupted, so objects placed on top look deliberate—books, a tray, a single vase. But the finish still has that quiet texture from the transparent dots, which helps the mirror feel more lived-in.
On the storage pieces, two doors open and close with a push-pull system. No visible hardware, no extra fuss. It keeps the front clean while making access simple.
Placement & lifestyle
Robotin works best where light can reach it. In a living room, the lower formats bring a reflective plane into the seating area without adding weight. In an entry or behind a sofa, the taller console proportions can sharpen the line of the space and add a subtle sense of depth.
Because the pattern is consistent and the mirror is double-sided, Robotin looks considered even when viewed from across the room. It suits interiors that like a bit of polish, but it still pairs well with softer upholstery and warm woods.
Longevity
Tempered glass and UV bonding give Robotin a resilient foundation for everyday use. The finish is meant to keep its clarity over time, and the pattern helps disguise the small visual noise that glossy surfaces can pick up in real homes.
Robotin stays current because it doesn’t rely on ornament. It’s a strong idea, executed cleanly, and that’s what tends to last.
