About Post Modern
Design
Post Modern is a series of high and low tables by Piero Lissoni, drawn with clean geometry and a calm sense of proportion. Shapes move from squared and rectangular to rounded, keeping the lines crisp without feeling sharp. The look is intentionally direct. And that restraint is what makes it easy to live with—nothing fights for attention, but nothing fades away either.
The profile stays consistent across sizes, so the collection feels cohesive even when pieces are mixed. A larger top reads architectural, while the smaller formats feel lighter and more casual. But the overall impression stays the same: measured, graphic, and quietly confident.
Materials & Build
The top is offered in transparent glass, transparent extralight glass, or glossy lacquered glass. Each finish changes the mood: standard transparent keeps it straightforward, extralight looks cleaner and less tinted, and glossy lacquered brings a more saturated, reflective surface. The feet are molded and shaped borosilicate glass, giving the base a distinct presence without visual heaviness.
Everything is glass, yet the construction doesn’t read fragile. The contrast between the planar top and the sculpted feet is the point, and it’s handled with precision. Glasitalia keeps the details controlled, so edges and reflections feel intentional, not busy.
Comfort in Use
These tables are made to be used the way people actually gather. There are taller options at about 28.3 inches high and lower options at about 15.0 inches high, so the experience shifts naturally from dining to lounging. The clear structure keeps sightlines open, which can make a room feel less crowded even with a generous footprint.
And because the base is glass, there’s a sense of space around the legs that can make seating feel less constrained. It’s a subtle kind of comfort, more about ease of movement and visual calm than softness.
Placement & Lifestyle
Sizes range widely, from rectangular tops around 70.9 to 86.6 inches long and 35.4 to 39.4 inches wide, to square formats from about 51.2 to 59.1 inches. Round versions are also available, from about 47.2 inches up to 66.9 inches in diameter. That spread makes Post Modern adaptable for everything from compact living areas to large dining rooms.
In a minimal interior it will blend in, letting other materials speak. In a more layered room it works as a clean pause. And when paired with upholstered seating, the glass brings a welcome balance.
Longevity
Glass can be a long-term choice when it’s specified well, and borosilicate is known for its resilience. The design also helps: there are no decorative elements to date quickly, just shape and proportion. Post Modern stays relevant because it doesn’t chase a moment.
Custom-made options are available, which is often the difference between a table that merely fits and one that feels resolved. For clients who want a glass table that remains composed year after year, Post Modern by glasitalia is a considered answer.
