About Nesting
Design
Nesting is a family of high and low tables designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec. Each piece is defined by a square top and clean, cylindrical legs, all in Murano amber glass. The tone is warm without being loud, and it changes through the day as light moves across the surface. It reads minimal at first glance, but the thickness and depth make it feel substantial.
The silhouette stays simple on purpose. And that restraint lets the material do the talking: clear geometry, rounded volume, and a sense of quiet density that looks considered in both modern and more layered interiors.
Materials & build
Every table is made entirely from Murano amber glass, chosen for its uncommon strength and plasticity. The tops are formed from extremely thick poured glass, giving the square surface a bold edge and a rich internal glow. The legs are blown glass, cylindrical and precise, with the kind of consistency that only comes from real control of the process.
Construction differs by height. On the low tables, the legs are welded directly to the top. On the high tables, the legs are fixed with stainless steel plates that are screwed together, a practical detail that keeps the connection clean and reliable while respecting the clarity of the glass.
Comfort in use
This is glass that feels confident in daily life. The heavy poured top gives a steady, planted feel, and the round legs keep the look light even when the material is thick. Edges are crisp but not fussy, and the amber tint softens whatever sits on it, from ceramics to books to a single stem in a vase.
Placement & lifestyle
Because the proportions shift across the series, Nesting can slip into different roles without changing its character. Sizes include 16.5" x 16.5" x 13.4", 16.5" x 16.5" x 16.5", 31.5" x 31.5" x 15.0", and 31.5" x 31.5" x 28.3" (L x W x H). A smaller square works as an intimate side or occasional table, while the larger formats hold their own in open-plan rooms where furniture needs presence but not visual clutter.
In a dining setting, the taller version brings a warm counterpoint to stone, wood, or metal chairs. In a living space, the lower options add color and depth without taking over. And when used together, the repeated square-and-cylinder language keeps the composition calm.
Longevity
Glasitalia keeps Nesting focused: no custom sizes, just a set of resolved proportions and a build that’s made to last. The thickness of the poured top, the blown-glass legs, and the stainless steel connections on the high tables are all straightforward choices for durability. It’s a piece that will keep its clarity over time, and the amber glass stays relevant even as everything else in the room changes.
