Illusion

About Illusion

Design

Illusion is a series of low tables defined by a clean parallelepiped shape and a precise, reflective presence. The top reads as a mirror, while the sides shift through a degrading, shaded mirror finish that changes with the light and the room. It stays graphic and understated, even when the reflections get lively.

Jean-Marie Massaud keeps the lines strict and the proportions calm. There’s no extra frame, no visible structure to interrupt the volume. And that’s the point: a simple form that looks almost immaterial when it catches a view, then solid again when the light drops.

Materials & build

Each table is realized by gluing bevelled crystal sheets at 45 degrees. The bevels do more than finish the edges; they sharpen the geometry and make the joins feel intentional, almost architectural. The mirrored top and mirrored sides are integral to the build, not an afterthought.

The result is crisp and polished, with reflections that feel layered rather than flat. Illusion by glasitalia is not available custom made, so the collection stays true to its original proportions and finishes.

Everyday use

These are low tables meant to be used without fuss. The mirrored surface is clear and functional, with enough visual depth to make even a simple object feel composed on top. But the table never tries to be the main event; it supports the room and quietly shapes it.

Different heights change the way it works in a space. There are compact square formats at about 15.4 inches by 15.4 inches, offered in heights of approximately 15.4 inches, 23.6 inches, and 31.5 inches, depending on the configuration.

Placement & lifestyle

The larger low formats are sized to anchor seating areas without feeling heavy. Options include about 43.3 inches by 43.3 inches at 13.0 inches high, 27.6 inches by 27.6 inches at 13.0 inches high, and a longer proportion at roughly 63.0 inches by 27.6 inches at 13.0 inches high.

Because the sides are shaded and mirrored, the table reacts to its surroundings more than most. It looks sharp against textiles and matte finishes, and it feels especially considered near stone, lacquer, or dark wood.

Longevity

The construction is deliberate, built around crystal sheets and exact angles rather than add-on detailing. That kind of restraint ages well. And when the room changes, the reflections change too, so the piece keeps offering something new without needing to be reinvented.

For faster availability, quick ship applies to ILL01, ILL02, ILL03, ILL04, and ILL05. The collection keeps a consistent identity across sizes, so mixing heights can feel natural rather than busy.
