About Fountain

Design

Fountain is a round low table by Tokujin Yoshioka that keeps the idea simple: a clear, sculpted base with a glass top that appears to float inside it. The silhouette is quiet, but the surface has movement. Light catches the glass the way it does on water, with small shifts and sparkle that change through the day.

Each version stays true to the same proportion and presence, just scaled. And because the top is set into the base rather than sitting on top of it, the whole piece reads as one object, not two parts stacked together.

Materials & build

The base is made from Murano poured glass, then hand shaped and chiseled using highly tuned processing techniques. That handwork matters here. It creates edges and contours that feel intentional, not overly polished, and it keeps the glass from looking flat or generic.

The top is also poured glass. It is inserted and rests inside the base, a detail that gives the table a clean line and a secure feel in use. Fountain is not available custom made, so the finish and proportions are exactly as designed.

Use & everyday comfort

This is glass that invites a closer look, but it’s also made to be lived with. The round top makes placement easy and softens a seating area. There are no sharp corners to navigate, which helps in tighter rooms and around low lounge seating.

The inset top creates a subtle boundary at the edge, so items feel naturally contained. But the look stays light. It doesn’t visually block a space the way heavier tables can.

Placement & sizing

Glasitalia offers Fountain in several sizes, each keeping the same round geometry. FOU01 measures about 15 inches in diameter and 16.5 inches high. FOU02 is about 17.75 inches in diameter and 13 inches high. FOU03 is about 25.6 inches in diameter and 8.25 inches high. FOU04 is the largest at about 31.5 inches in diameter and 14.25 inches high.

For quicker delivery, QUICK SHIP applies to FOU01, FOU02, and FOU03. That makes it easier to choose a size for a living room, a reading corner, or a more open lounge setting without a long wait.

Longevity

Glass wears differently than wood or stone. It holds its shape and color, and it won’t go out of style because it doesn’t rely on surface trends. What changes over time is the way the hand-shaped texture continues to catch light, room to room, year to year.

As part of the Fountain collection from Glasitalia, the piece is meant to stay relevant as interiors evolve. It’s a considered object, and it keeps its impact without asking for constant attention.
