About Doble
Design
Doble by glasitalia is a collection of low tables and consoles designed by Patricia Urquiola. The forms stay clean and confident, but the experience is anything but ordinary. Through its layered glass, everyday objects nearby can look shifted, multiplied, or slightly out of place. And that subtle confusion is the point.
The silhouettes are simple—round and rectangular tops with crisp edges—so the optical effects have room to do their work. Nothing feels busy. But the table never reads as “just glass,” especially once it’s in a room with light, art, and movement.
Materials & Build
The collection is made from an innovative laminated and glued glass. This construction is what creates the surreal visual changes: objects seen through it can appear to vary in position, size, even perceived material. The base is in laminated mirror, reflecting and amplifying those effects without adding extra parts or decoration.
It’s a piece that rewards close looking. The mirrored base catches what’s around it, then the laminated glass bends that information into something new. Doble keeps its structure clear and precise, so the illusion feels intentional, not accidental.
Comfort in Use
These tables are about visual comfort more than softness. The proportions are practical, and the surfaces read as light in the room. And because the design doesn’t rely on bold color or heavy volume, it tends to sit calmly next to seating, rugs, and larger case pieces.
The mirrored base brings brightness from below, which can make a setting feel more open. But it still has presence. It’s the kind of table that makes a living space feel considered, even when everything else is relaxed.
Placement & Lifestyle
Doble works as a side table, coffee table, or console depending on the configuration. The available sizes include round options at approximately Ø18.5 x 19.7 in, Ø29.5 x 15.7 in, and Ø35.4 x 13.8 in, plus rectangular formats around 18.5 x 18.5 x 19.7 in, 18.5 x 27.6 x 15.7 in, 27.6 x 27.6 x 15.7 in, and 39.4 x 16.5 x 31.5 in.
It suits spaces where light changes throughout the day. Place it near a window, next to a sofa, or under artwork, and the surface will keep shifting. And it pairs well with both minimal interiors and more layered rooms, because it doesn’t compete—yet it doesn’t disappear.
Longevity & Availability
The appeal here isn’t tied to a trend. The construction and optical effect feel specific, and that specificity helps it hold attention over time. It’s also a piece that stays interesting as a room evolves, since the illusion depends on whatever surrounds it.
Doble is not available custom made. Quick ship applies to selected versions, including DOL01 through DOL07.
