Bisel

About Bisel

Design

Bisel is a collection of tables and consoles by Patricia Urquiola, designed to let color and edge work do the talking. The silhouettes stay clean and architectural. But the surfaces never read flat. Each piece is shaped, then finished with crisp bevels that catch light and shift tone as someone moves around it. It’s graphic at first glance, then quietly complex up close.

Materials & Build

Glasitalia builds Bisel in multi-layered, multichromatic glass. The material starts as five slabs of 5 mm extra-light glass, each laminated with a different colored film. Those layers create depth rather than just tint, and the transparency keeps everything sharp.

Each glass sheet is produced in distinct shapes, then ground, polished, and faceted to emphasize the bevels. The components are joined with a special gluing technique designed for total clarity, so the seams stay discreet. And because this collection leans on precision, custom sizes are not available.

Everyday Use

For glass, Bisel feels surprisingly substantial in presence. The polished surfaces look refined, but they also read practical: smooth to the touch, easy on the eye, and clean in profile. The beveling adds definition at the edges, so the table doesn’t disappear in a room, even when the palette is light.

Placement & Lifestyle

The collection offers a range of proportions for different spaces. BIS01 measures about 39.4" long, 35.8" wide, and 15.7" high. BIS02 is about 23.6" long, 13.8" wide, and 19.7" high. BIS03 comes in at roughly 46.9" long, 16.5" wide, and 31.5" high. For larger rooms, BIS04 spans about 86.6" long, 35.4" wide, and 28.3" high.

In an airy interior, Bisel keeps the sightlines open while still adding color. In a more layered setting, it brings a controlled hit of shine and geometry. Quick ship is available for BIS01, BIS02, and BIS03 in Green/Ocher.

Longevity

What keeps Bisel relevant is restraint. The forms stay simple, and the color lives inside the laminate, not as a surface treatment that feels temporary. The clarity of the joins and the polish on the edges are the details that hold up over time, giving this Glasitalia piece its lasting presence without asking for attention.
