About Kazimir bookcase

Design

The Kazimir bookcase reads like a clear architectural gesture, reduced to what matters. Designed by Michael Anastassiades, it is built from interlocked planes that overlap and cross with calm precision. The form is rigorous, but it never feels cold. And because the structure is all about the geometry, it holds its own even when styled lightly.

There is a quiet confidence in how the glass sheets meet. The edges stay clean, the lines stay sharp, and the overall silhouette feels sculpted without trying too hard. It is the kind of piece that makes books, objects, and negative space look considered.

Materials & build

glasitalia makes the entire piece from special 10 mm tempered glass, offered in green or extra-clear, with double-sided acid etching. The finish softens reflections and gives the surface a refined, tactile look. It also helps the bookcase feel present without being loud.

The construction relies on overlapping glass sheets bonded with a dedicated UV method. That choice keeps the joinery visually discreet and lets the structure feel almost seamless. But it still looks intentional, with each plane clearly doing its job. The shelves can be wall-mounted and installed in either orientation, depending on the room and the desired rhythm.

Everyday ease

Comfort here is about living with it, not lounging on it. The open layout makes it simple to reach for books and to edit a display as tastes change. And the acid-etched surface keeps the look composed, even under bright light.

Because the design is so pared back, it does not compete with what goes on it. It supports collections, not clutter. A few books look purposeful. A full run of volumes still feels orderly.

Placement & lifestyle

In a living room, it can sit behind a seating area or anchor a wall without turning heavy. In a study, it brings structure while keeping the room visually open. It also works well in a hallway or entry where a traditional bookcase would feel too dense.

For the KAZ11 configuration, the bookcase measures approximately 41.7 inches long, 12.6 inches deep, and 66.9 inches high. Those proportions give it presence, but it stays slender enough for tighter spaces.

Longevity

Tempered glass is chosen for resilience, and the UV-bonded build is meant to stay crisp over time. The look is not trend-led, so it does not age quickly. It stays relevant as rooms change around it.

The Kazimir bookcase is not available custom made, which keeps the design true to its original intent. It is a specific statement, delivered with clarity and restraint.
