About Giselle Bookshelve

Design

Giselle by Capital takes the idea of a bookcase and strips it back to a clean, architectural line. Designed by Boatto Martino Studio for the BOOKCASE 2018 collection, it reads almost like a light metal framework drawn in space. The modular concept keeps the structure visually airy, so books and objects feel curated rather than crowded.

Nothing is overly decorative. The geometry is clear, balanced, and quietly graphic, which makes the piece sit confidently in both minimalist and layered interiors. It is a design that does its job without competing with what it holds.

Materials & Build

The structure is entirely metal, giving Giselle a firm, stable backbone. Panels in metal finishing continue this language, creating a subtle play between open and closed areas. Wooden shelves soften the overall look, bringing warmth and a natural touch against the cooler frame.

The bookcase measures approximately 59.8 inches wide, 77.6 inches high, and 16.9 inches deep, with a weight around 276 pounds and a volume near 49.4 cubic feet. The scale feels generous yet manageable. Every element is straightforward: metal, wood, and precise proportions, assembled to highlight the quality of the build rather than hide it.

Comfort in Daily Use

While a bookcase is not about physical comfort, it still shapes how a room feels and functions. Here, the open design makes access easy from top to bottom. Shelves are clearly defined, so lining up books, boxes, or decorative pieces feels intuitive.

Because the structure appears light, it doesn’t weigh down the room visually. It supports a sense of order without feeling rigid, which is its own kind of everyday comfort.

Placement & Lifestyle

Giselle works well where storage and display need to share the stage. In a living room, it can anchor a wall without closing it off. In a study or office, it brings a clear, linear backdrop to books and work materials. It also suits open spaces where a more solid cabinet might feel too heavy.

The understated mix of metal and wood blends easily with existing pieces. Capital keeps the design neutral enough to pair with soft fabrics, leather seating, or more industrial elements without a clash.

Longevity

The combination of metal structure and wooden shelving gives this bookcase a long working life. The frame delivers strength; the wood brings character that will only deepen with time. Nothing here is overly fragile or overly trendy.

Because the design is calm and the materials are straightforward, Giselle from Capital is built to stay relevant as interiors evolve around it. It is a piece that can move from one home to the next and still feel like it belongs.
