About Tutube

Design

Tutube is a study in clean geometry, reduced to a pure cylinder in transparent glass. And then it does something unexpected: inside the form, a soft concavity appears, shaped so it feels continuous with the outer surface rather than added on. The result is quiet but distinctive, especially when light moves through it.

Designed by Marc Krusin, the piece stays restrained in its lines while still reading as intentional from every angle. It looks simple at a glance. But the interior curve gives it depth, and it keeps the eye coming back.

Materials & build

Each vase is made in borosilicate transparent glass, chosen for its clarity and its ability to hold a crisp silhouette. The signature inner concavity comes from a complex blowing process, not from cutting or assembly. That matters because the surface remains continuous and smooth, inside and out.

Tutube is available in two heights. Both share the same diameter, approximately 5.9 inches, with heights of about 14.8 inches and 19.7 inches. The proportions feel deliberate in either size, and they read as architectural without being cold.

Comfort, in an object sense

This is an accessory, but it still needs to feel easy to live with. The cylindrical shape sits calmly on a surface and doesn’t demand constant styling. But it also doesn’t disappear. The inner contour creates a gentle focal point, even when the vase is empty.

With stems, branches, or a single sculptural bloom, the transparency keeps arrangements looking light. And the interior curve adds a second layer of perspective that feels considered, not decorative for its own sake.

Placement & lifestyle

Tutube suits spaces where glass can do what it does best: catch daylight, echo nearby materials, and stay visually open. It works on a console, a shelf, or a side table, especially when paired with stone, dark wood, or lacquered finishes.

In a set-up with minimal objects, it brings a refined point of interest. In a more collected room, it acts as a pause—clear, vertical, and calm. Glasitalia keeps the expression restrained, so it layers easily with other pieces.

Longevity

Borosilicate glass is valued for its everyday resilience and stable clarity, so Tutube is made to be used, not just displayed. The blown construction avoids seams and joins, which helps the form feel consistent over time.

It is not available custom made. Quick ship is offered for TUT01 and TUT02, which makes it easier to specify on a tighter schedule without compromising the intent of the design.
