Spizzo

About Spizzo

Design

Spizzo is a re-launch of a mirror first designed in 1989 by Cinzia Ruggeri. The outline is deliberately shaped rather than strictly rectangular, which gives it a little tension on the wall and keeps it from feeling purely functional. It reads as graphic, but not loud.

What sets it apart is the delicate mirrored lace insert. It’s a small detail, and that’s the point. It breaks up the reflection just enough to add character, without turning the surface into decoration for decoration’s sake.

Materials & Build

This is a shaped mirror with a clean edge and an inset element that’s also mirrored. The result is all light and reflection, but with a touch of pattern. And because the insert is integrated into the mirror composition, it feels intentional, not applied.

Spizzo is offered in two fixed sizes and is not available custom made. The proportions are consistent across both versions, including a depth of about 2.4 inches, so it stays close to the wall and looks crisp in profile.

Everyday Experience

As a mirror, Spizzo does what it should: it gives a clear reflection and opens up a room visually. But the lace insert adds a subtle pause. It softens the read of the surface and makes the mirror feel less like an object you only notice when you need it.

It also plays well with different lighting. Natural light keeps it sharp and clean; warmer evening light brings out a gentler, more layered look. Nothing fussy, just a bit more to live with.

Placement & Lifestyle

The taller version, SP01, measures about 27.6 inches wide, 2.4 inches deep, and 59.1 inches high. It suits an entryway, a dressing area, or anywhere a vertical line helps the architecture. Leaning isn’t part of the spec, but wall placement lets the shape read properly.

The wider, more compact SP02 is about 35.4 inches wide, 2.4 inches deep, and 35.4 inches high. It works well over a console, in a hallway, or as a focal point in a smaller room where a full-height mirror would feel too dominant.

Longevity

Because the design relies on proportion and detail rather than trend cues, it has staying power. The lace insert is distinctive, but it isn’t trying to steal the room. And that restraint is what keeps it relevant.

Spizzo from glasitalia is a specific piece with a clear point of view, made to be chosen once and lived with for years. It carries Cinzia Ruggeri’s signature without turning the space into a tribute, just a quiet note of design history on the wall.
