Design

Scribble is a mirror that doesn’t try to disappear into the wall. It leans into a graphic, almost playful gesture, like a brushstroke drawn freehand across the surface. The effect is artistic but not precious, and it reads clearly from across a room. Designed by Yabu Pushelberg, it has that rare balance of controlled composition and a little bit of mischief.

The mirrored shape feels “drawn” rather than cut in a strict frame. And that’s the point: the line work gives the piece motion, even when the space is still. Scribble can also be hung in all four positions, so the same mirror can shift its attitude just by rotating it.

Materials & build

Glas Italia produces Scribble in 5 mm extralight glass, roughly 0.2 inches thick, for a clean, bright reflection. The mirror surface is paired with either a neutral black background or a coated antiqued silver leaf finish. The contrast is what makes the “scribble” legible, and it keeps the mirror from feeling like just another flat plane of glass.

The construction stays simple and intentional. No extra ornament, no added features. Scribble is not available custom made, which keeps the proportions and finishes exactly as designed.

Everyday use

This is a mirror meant to be looked at and lived with. The graphic mark breaks up reflections in a deliberate way, so it can soften what a mirror usually does in a room. But it still functions as a real mirror, not an art piece that avoids utility.

And because it can hang in four orientations, it’s easy to fine-tune how much of the gesture sits higher or lower, left or right. That flexibility matters when the room changes, or when the mirror moves to a new wall.

Placement & lifestyle

Scribble comes in three sizes: 23.6 x 23.6 inches, 29.5 x 39.4 inches, and 31.5 x 70.9 inches. The square version works well where a room needs a sharp focal point. The mid-size feels right over a console or in a hallway. The tallest option has the presence to anchor a bedroom or dressing area.

For quick shipping, the SCRI01, SCRI02, and SCRI03 configurations are available in silver leaf and black. It’s an easy way to bring in the look without a long wait.

Longevity

Scribble has a finish story that won’t date quickly because it isn’t chasing a trend. It’s a clear idea, executed with restraint. The extralight glass keeps reflections crisp over time, and the background treatments give the surface depth without relying on heavy detailing.
