Prism Mirror specchi

About Prism Mirror specchi

Design

Prism Mirror specchi is a study in crisp geometry, offered in rectangular and octagonal shapes. The outline is clean, but the edges do the talking. Shiny chamfers and facets catch light from different angles, so the mirror reads as more than a flat plane. It feels graphic in the daytime and a little sharper at night, when lamplight starts to move across the frame.

Designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, the piece keeps the gesture restrained. No extra ornament, no unnecessary curves. And yet it still has presence, because the frame behaves like a prism—subtle shifts, small flashes, and a sense of depth around the reflection.

Materials & build

The frame is made in silver-plated, transparent extralight glass, sized at 0.47 inches thick. That thickness gives it a satisfying visual weight without making the profile feel heavy. The finish stays clear and bright, and the silver-plating brings a cool tone that suits both warm and neutral interiors.

Every chamfer and facet is part of the build, not an add-on. The detailing is precise, and it’s meant to be seen up close as much as from across the room.

Everyday use

A mirror has to work first. The reflection is clean and straightforward, while the faceted frame adds a controlled sparkle at the perimeter. But it doesn’t distract from the face or the outfit; it frames the moment. The glass edge treatment also helps the piece feel finished from multiple viewpoints, which matters in open-plan rooms and wide hallways.

Placement & lifestyle

Glasitalia offers two main sizes: approximately 39.0 inches wide by 3.1 inches deep by 78.3 inches high, and a more compact option at about 39.0 by 3.1 by 39.0 inches. The taller format suits a dressing area, bedroom, or entry where a full-length view is useful. The square proportion works well above a console, in a powder room, or anywhere a strong, centered shape helps anchor the wall.

Because the frame plays with light, it pairs well with softer materials nearby—textiles, matte paints, natural stone. And it holds its own next to polished metal and lacquer too.

Longevity

The Prism Mirror specchi is not available custom made, so the selection is about choosing the right proportion and letting the design do its job for years. Extralight glass keeps the look clear, while the silver-plated frame maintains a cool, refined shine. With normal care and gentle cleaning, the faceted edges stay crisp and the surface stays bright—exactly what a Glasitalia mirror should deliver day after day.
