About I Massi specchi
Design
I Massi specchi is a study in clean geometry, designed by Claudio Silvestrin. Each mirror reads as a precise block, with sharp lines that still feel quiet. The form is straightforward, but it has presence. And because the edges meet at a crisp angle, the piece looks almost carved rather than assembled.
The collection comes in a few proportions, so it can shift from tall and architectural to low and wide. It’s the kind of object that doesn’t need ornament to hold attention. It simply sits there, confident and composed.
Materials & Build
The structure is made from mirror slabs with 45° chamfers, glued to create a single parallelepiped. That detail matters. The angled joins refine the silhouette and help the mirror feel monolithic, like one continuous volume instead of separate panels.
There are two versions: one with an integrated lighting installation using white neon, and one without lighting. In the illuminated option, a circle of light spills from the back, adding a subtle halo without changing the front face. Each piece is supplied with a double fixture for both horizontal and vertical mounting.
Comfort (Everyday Use)
As with the best mirrors, the experience is about clarity and ease. The depth gives I Massi specchi a strong frame-like presence, but it stays visually calm. The back lighting option brings softer ambience for evening use, especially in hallways and bedrooms, where harsh overhead light can feel unforgiving.
But it doesn’t ask for special handling or a special wall. The mounting flexibility makes it easy to align to a room’s proportions, whether it’s hung vertically for a full-length view or horizontally to widen a space.
Placement & Lifestyle
Glasitalia offers I Massi specchi in four sizes: 26.4" L x 7.5" W x 79.1" H; 28.3" L x 7.5" W x 28.3" H; 28.3" L x 7.5" W x 52.4" H; and 40.6" L x 7.5" W x 40.6" H. The slimmer width helps it sit close to the wall, while still reading as a substantial object.
In an entry, the tall version feels architectural and clean. In a living space, the wider format can anchor a wall without competing with art. And in a dressing area, the lighted option adds a practical glow that still feels understated.
Longevity
This is a piece built around stable geometry and durable materials, not trend-driven detail. The mirror’s monolithic construction keeps the look consistent from every angle, so it won’t feel dated as the room evolves.
Glasitalia does not offer this collection custom made, which keeps the intent clear: specific proportions, carefully resolved, meant to be used as-is for years.
