Giano

Design

Giano is a standing dressing mirror with a clean rectangular profile and a quiet sense of presence. It’s double-faced and it revolves, so the form stays simple while the function feels considered. The edges read crisp, with the glossy lacquered glass bands framing the mirror in a way that’s precise without being showy. Designed by Opera Design, it keeps ornament out of the picture and lets proportion do the work.

Materials & build

The structure is built from mirrored plates that are glued together and finished with 45° chamfered glossy lacquered glass bands. That chamfer matters. It sharpens the outline and gives the perimeter a controlled shine as light moves across it. The base is opaque inox metal, chosen for stability and a restrained, industrial note that doesn’t fight the glass.

This piece is not available custom made, which suits its nature. It’s a specific object with a specific geometry, meant to be kept intact.

Everyday use

The double-faced format makes it easy to turn the view without moving the mirror around the room. And because it’s a revolving standing mirror, it works comfortably for quick checks as well as longer moments getting ready. There’s no extra mechanism to learn. It simply rotates, then stays put when the angle feels right.

Placement & lifestyle

With a footprint of about 19.7 inches by 19.7 inches and an overall height of about 70.9 inches, it holds its own without taking over the floor. It fits naturally in a dressing area, beside a wardrobe, or in a bedroom corner where a full-length view is useful but the room still needs to breathe. In a larger bath or a walk-in closet, it reads more like a furnishing than an accessory.

Giano also works in more public spaces. In a refined entry or a private suite, it adds function in a way that feels intentional, not decorative.

Longevity

Glass and metal are honest materials, and this construction is made to keep its look over time. The lacquered glass bands hold their gloss, while the opaque inox base stays visually calm even with daily use.
