About Diva
Design
Diva is a standing mirror with a clean, architectural presence. The silhouette stays quiet, but the surface work makes it feel intentional up close. Jean-Marie Massaud keeps the lines simple, letting the glass do the talking.
The mirror is divided with purpose: transparent at the top and bottom, and more mysterious through the center. That middle band carries a special mirroring effect, a subtle shift that changes with the room and the light around it.
Materials & Build
Made in glued smoked glass, the piece reads deep and refined without turning heavy. The smoked tone brings softness to reflections, and it pairs naturally with both warm materials and sharper, modern finishes.
The construction is precise, and the transitions between clear and mirrored areas feel deliberate, not decorative. Diva is not available custom made, which suits a design that relies on exact proportions and a specific balance of transparency and sheen.
Light & Daily Use
The most distinctive detail is what happens when the lamp on the backside is on. Through the central mirrored section, the luminous trace of that lamp becomes visible, a controlled glow that shows itself as a line of light rather than a full exposed source.
And the switch is as direct as it gets: a red cord that turns the lamp on and off with a pull. It’s a small gesture, but it gives the mirror a human feel. No hidden buttons, no fuss.
Placement & Lifestyle
At approximately 19.7 inches long, 3.1 inches wide, and 78.7 inches high, it has the height to work as a full-length mirror without needing a lot of floor space. That slim depth keeps it easy in tighter rooms.
It sits naturally in a bedroom or dressing area, but it also makes sense in an entry where lighting matters. In a quieter corner it can read sculptural. But placed near a lamp or a wall sconce, it becomes more interactive, catching and reframing light in a way a standard mirror doesn’t.
Longevity
Glassitalia’s approach here is about lasting impact through material, not add-ons. The smoked glass and clear sections are resilient to changing trends because they stay straightforward and functional.
Care is simple: keep the surfaces clean and avoid abrasive products that can dull the finish. Treated well, Diva holds its clarity and its effect over time, staying crisp in daylight and surprisingly atmospheric after dark.
