About Contro Peso

Design

Contro Peso is a floor mirror with a clear point of view: two reflective faces, set on a precise steel frame, with a stance that feels architectural without getting heavy. It tilts, it regulates, and it keeps the lines clean. The proportions stay narrow and tall, so it reads as a piece of furniture, not just a utility.

The finish matters here. The structure is lacquered in RAL 6006 with a matte look, giving the mirror a quiet depth instead of shine. And because it’s double-sided, it invites use from different angles. It’s straightforward, but it isn’t plain.

Materials & Build

The frame is steel, matt lacquered, chosen for stability and control in the mechanism. The base is where the idea becomes physical: pure transparent crystal, mirrored through manual silvering. That mirrored crystal isn’t decoration. It acts as the counterweight, balancing the mirror as it tilts.

That combination of lacquered steel and crystal keeps the piece crisp. It also keeps it visually light, even when it’s doing serious work. There’s nothing fussy to read, just material contrast and clean junctions.

Comfort in Use

A floor mirror earns its place by how it moves. Here, the double-sided panel tilts and can be regulated, making it easy to find the right angle without wrestling with it. Small adjustments feel intentional, not improvised.

It’s also a practical kind of luxury: two mirrored sides mean it stays useful as the day changes. And it keeps the experience personal, whether it’s a quick check on the way out or a slower moment getting ready.

Placement & Lifestyle

At approximately 67.3 inches high, 18.5 inches long, and 9.8 inches wide, it fits where a full-length mirror should, but it doesn’t demand a wide footprint. That makes it easy in a bedroom, dressing area, or a generous hallway.

Contro Peso works best when it has a little air around it so the crystal base can be seen. But it doesn’t need a staged setting. In a more minimal room, it adds structure. In a layered interior, it brings a clean pause.

Longevity

This is a piece designed to hold up to routine. Steel and crystal are resilient choices, and the counterweighted base is part of the mirror’s long-term stability, not an afterthought.

glasitalia offers it as it is, not custom made. That fixed approach suits the design. It’s a defined object with defined finishes, meant to stay consistent over time and stay relevant because it does its job well.
