Design

Angelo e Angela is a small series of vases by Jean-Marie Massaud. Each piece pairs a strict, parallelepiped glass case with a ceramic form that feels more organic. The contrast is the point. Clean lines on the outside, a sculptural presence held within.

The glass box is assembled from smoked glass panels, glued at 45° for crisp, precise edges. Inside, the ceramic element sits supported and contained, visible from every side. It reads like an object on display, but it stays functional.

Materials & Build

The outer case is smoked glass, defined by sharp geometry and a darker tone that adds depth without going heavy. The inner sculpture is ceramic, hollow, and made to hold water. It is offered in two finishes: an opaque white that stays quiet and matte, or a platinum lacquer that brings a controlled shine.

Glasitalia keeps the construction straightforward and exact. The glass and ceramic are not competing materials here; they are intentionally different, and they meet with a sense of restraint. And because the ceramic sits inside the glass volume, the piece always looks composed, even when styled with a single stem.

Comfort, in the Way It’s Used

This is not comfort in the lounge-chair sense, but in daily handling. The format makes arranging easy: the ceramic holds water, and the glass case frames the composition so it looks finished fast. But it still leaves room to change the mood, from spare and minimal to fuller, seasonal arrangements.

Placement & Lifestyle

Two sizes are available, each with its own proportions. ANG01 measures about 7.9 inches by 7.9 inches, with a height of 23.6 inches. ANG02 is wider and lower at roughly 23.6 inches long, 9.1 inches wide, and 17.7 inches high.

Both work as accessories that can anchor a surface without cluttering it. The taller version suits a console or a corner of a room that needs verticality. The longer one feels natural on a low table or a wide sideboard. Angelo e Angela can sit alone, but it also plays well next to books, ceramics, and quieter objects.

Longevity & Availability

The appeal is in the materials and the clarity of the idea, which tends to last. Smoked glass keeps its character over time, and ceramic is resilient with normal care. And the design avoids fussy details, so it stays relevant as interiors change.
