Prima Cafè, Milan
Prima Cafè sits on Corso Garibaldi, in the more bohemienne stretch of Milan, and it reads as a thoughtful meeting point for design, technology, and the food experience. The project was conceived by the tech company Prima Assicurazioni and designed by Park Associati as a multisensory architectural concept. It’s not a static space. It shifts with the day, from morning through late hours, and that sense of change is part of what makes it feel current and lived-in.
Floor-to-ceiling windows set the tone. They pull in the street and the daylight, and then later they hold the glow of the interior against the night outside. The palette leans cool, with blue and purple shades that play off the raw, bronzed finishes. The contrast is crisp without feeling sharp. And it gives the room a calm tension, the kind that keeps a café from turning into just another lounge.
Interiors and furniture selection
The furnishing direction is deliberately varied, with pieces that shift in shape and scale to support different moods and postures. There’s a cozy, slightly vintage character to it, but it’s kept controlled. Nothing feels overly styled. Instead, the space relies on a mix of forms that can handle the pace of a café, from quick stops to longer stays.
Meridiani collections were selected to anchor this atmosphere, and they bring a recognizable mix of structure and comfort. Norton sofas introduce rigorous volumes softened by rounded lines, a balance that suits the architectural setting without making it feel formal. The Joseph sofas arrive with their distinctive “bean” shape, shown here in the more casual quilted version, which reads relaxed but still intentional. Nanì armchairs add another layer: a rigorous presence, yet generous in form and dimension. Together, these choices let Prima Cafè feel composed while staying approachable, from the first coffee to the last drink of the evening.
