Funky Kitchen

Funky Kitchen, Hannover

Funky Kitchen is one of Hannover’s standout restaurant addresses, set inside the Peppermint Pavillon, in a district known more for nightlife than city-center routines. The setting asks for a balance: lounge-level polish, but never stiff. It’s the kind of room people choose for the mood as much as the menu. And it needs to feel modern without trying too hard.

The interior concept was developed by designer Sasha Foster, with an eye for a space that stays refined while keeping the atmosphere friendly and informal. That contrast is what makes the place work. Guests can settle in, stay a while, and still feel like they’re somewhere considered and well composed.

Seating with presence

For the seating, Foster selected the Lolyta chairs by Meridiani, chosen for their strong visual personality and the distinctive cross-shaped base. The silhouette reads clean and contemporary, but it carries enough character to hold its own in a busy lounge restaurant. It doesn’t disappear in the background. But it also doesn’t steal the scene.

Lolyta is a versatile collection, appreciated here for both its line and the wide choice of coverings. That flexibility matters in a hospitality setting, where durability and atmosphere need to sit together. It also explains why the same chair can move easily between residential spaces and contract projects. In Funky Kitchen, Meridiani’s Lolyta lands exactly where it should: confident, comfortable, and right for a room designed to be lived in late into the night.
