Vittorio Prato
Born in Desio in 1946, Vittorio Prato began his journey in design and interior architecture in 1965, collaborating with various designers. His career flourished during eight years as design director at the Cesare Cassina Center, followed by his role as director of the Research and Development Center at B&B Italia in 1972. Since 1976, Vittorio has served as a designer and consultant for numerous companies, contributing innovative solutions such as mechanical workshop accessories for Beta Utensili and an ergonomic armchair for dental surgeries with Idea. He created the first thermo-plastic office chair base for Vaghi and introduced a groundbreaking bed program for Flou. His bed chassis for Interflex received notable acclaim at the 13th Compasso d’Oro in 1984. His extensive collaboration includes esteemed firms like Studio Arch. Paolo Tilche-Artform, Cassina, and Minotti Italia, among others. For Lema-Sorgente dei Mobili, he not only provided consultancy but also designed innovative furnishing systems. Throughout the Nineties, he developed modular systems with Besana Mobili and created numerous designs for the contract sector with Meritalia, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary in the design field.
