Transfix

About Transfix

Design

Transfix is a display and storage unit that also works as a quiet divider. It reads as a clean volume in the room, but it doesn’t feel heavy. The form is all about clear planes and crisp junctions, so objects and books look like they’re floating in place. And because it can screen a space without closing it off, it suits interiors that want separation with light still moving through.

Designed by Marc Krusin, the lines stay intentionally restrained. Nothing is decorative for the sake of it. The piece relies on proportion and the confidence of pure glass to do the work.

Materials & Build

The structure is made by gluing slabs of laminated glass, specified as 5+5 mm. That lamination brings a reassuring sense of substance while keeping the look precise and transparent. The construction is direct: glass meeting glass, with the clarity of the joins becoming part of the visual language.

Transfix is available in transparent extralight glass or transparent coloured glass. Extralight keeps the tone especially clean, with minimal color cast. The coloured option adds a subtle tint without turning the piece opaque. It is not available custom made, so the selection stays focused on these finishes and the set configuration.

Everyday Ease

Comfort here is less about softness and more about how the piece behaves day to day. It doesn’t crowd a room. It doesn’t block sightlines the way solid storage can. That makes it easy to live with, especially when a space needs order but still wants openness.

Because it functions as both storage and display, it invites a curated approach. A few books, a few objects, then some breathing room. But it can also hold more, and still look composed.

Placement & Lifestyle

As a room divider, it suits loft-like layouts, entry transitions, or areas where a boundary is helpful but walls are too final. As a display unit, it brings a gallery-like neatness to living rooms, studios, and refined workspaces. In interiors with strong materials like stone, wood, or metal, the glass adds contrast without competing.

The overall size is 45.3 inches long, 12.6 inches wide, and 59.1 inches high. It’s substantial enough to define a zone, yet slender in depth, so it sits comfortably where circulation matters.

Longevity

Glass can feel delicate, but the laminated build is designed for resilience in real interiors. The look stays consistent over time because there are no coatings, no extra layers, no visual tricks that date quickly. And when it’s cared for simply, it keeps its clarity.

From Glas Italia, Transfix is the kind of piece chosen once and placed with intention. It remains relevant as the room changes around it, because it doesn’t rely on a trend to make its point.
