Design

Crystal Lounge is a sectional sofa and armchair collection by Jean-Marie Massaud, drawn with a clear, confident line. The profile is simple at first glance. But the structure is shaped glass, so the silhouette reads light even when the piece is generous in size. And because the cushions sit within the glass frame rather than on top of it, the look stays clean from every angle.

The system is modular. Lateral modules (left and right) and central modules can be combined into different arrangements, from compact lounge seating to long, continuous runs. The overall effect is architectural without being cold, which is exactly the point.

Materials & build

The structure is made from 15 mm extra-clear glass, tempered and UV glued. The transparency is not a detail; it’s the construction. It lets the cushions appear almost suspended, while the joinery stays discreet. Glasitalia keeps the material story straightforward: glass, carefully formed, with a finish that stays crisp under real use.

Cushions come with removable covers, available in a wide selection of fabrics and eco-leather in many colors. Crystal Lounge is not available custom made, so the choices are defined, but still broad enough to suit a quiet palette or something more graphic.

Comfort

Inside the cushions, the filling can be Dacron or a new soft material made from recycled plastic recovered from the oceans. It’s allergy free, cruelty-free, and eco compatible. The comfort is intentionally soft, designed to invite long sitting rather than quick perching. And the removable covers make everyday upkeep feel more realistic, especially in active homes.

Placement & lifestyle

This collection works best where it can be seen in the round: an open-plan living room, a suite, a gallery-like apartment. The glass edges catch light and shift with the room, so the piece changes from day to night without needing attention.

Sizes range from compact to expansive. Examples include approximately 39.0 x 35.4 x 26.0 in and 45.3 x 35.4 x 26.0 in, up to an extended configuration at about 125.6 x 35.4 x 26.0 in. There is also a lower profile option around 33.9 x 23.6 x 17.3 in for more casual lounging.

Longevity

Tempered glass and UV-glued assembly are chosen for resilience, not decoration. The structure is built to stay stable and clear over time, while the textile elements are designed to be refreshed as needs change. With Crystal Lounge, glasitalia delivers a piece that holds its visual clarity and keeps maintenance practical, even years in.
