About Wireframe

Design

Wireframe is a series of low tables designed by Piero Lissoni, built around a deliberate sense of irregularity. Each piece reads as a twisted, parallelepiped form, with planes that don’t quite align the way the eye expects. And that is the point. The silhouette feels almost off-balance, like it’s been shifted by hand, yet it holds its position with quiet confidence. The edges add a crisp graphic finish, traced by a glossy, colored line that sharpens the outline without turning it loud.

Materials & build

The structure is made by gluing together slabs of tempered, transparent extra-light glass. The clarity matters here; it keeps the mass from feeling heavy and lets the geometry do the work. Each edge is ground at angles, and the inclinations are intentionally different from one side to the next. But it never looks random. Those changing bevels catch light in a way that makes the table shift throughout the day, especially when viewed from the corner. The colored edge detail is done in glossy lacquered glass, so it reads as part of the construction, not an add-on.

Everyday use

This is glass that looks delicate but behaves with more resilience than it appears. The top surface is clean and open, with no fussy elements to work around. It’s the kind of side table that makes a single object feel considered: a book, a small tray, a glass. The irregular geometry also gives it presence even when it’s not “holding” anything, which is rare for a low table.

Placement & lifestyle

Wireframe works best where light can move across it. Near a sofa, beside a lounge chair, or in a quiet corner that needs structure without bulk. It’s transparent, so it won’t block a view or crowd a small space, yet it still reads as a designed object. Three configurations are available: WIR01 at approximately 15.7" L x 15.0" W x 17.7" H, WIR03 at 23.6" L x 22.4" W x 11.8" H, and WIR02 at 29.5" L x 34.3" W x 9.8" H.

Longevity

Because the form is built from tempered glass, the table is made for real rooms, not just display. The extra-light transparency keeps it looking fresh over time, and the glossy edge line stays sharp as a defining detail. glasitalia offers Wireframe as shown, and it is not available custom made. That limitation feels intentional, like a design that’s meant to remain specific.
