Design

Sherazade Spin is a glass panel door system built around a vertical pivot, so it reads clean and architectural, not like a conventional hinged door. The movement is the point: it revolves, it returns, and it can hold at a precise 90° position when needed. And when the door is specified with no stop, it keeps a bidirectional opening for a more fluid passage.

The pivot can be placed at the center or offset, depending on the look and the way the space needs to work. With a central pivot, the panel is capable of a full 360° rotation. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the piece keeps its lines quiet, letting the transparency, reflection, or texture of the glass do the talking.

Materials & build

Each panel is built with a glass sheet set into the center of an aluminum frame through a gasket. The glass options include tempered monolithic glass at about 0.24 inches thick, or laminated glass at about 0.24 inches overall (0.12 + 0.12 inches). That construction keeps the frame slim and controlled, while still giving the glass a defined, protected seat.

Glasitalia offers a wide range of glass finishes, from extralight clear to colored transparent versions, patterned surfaces, and acid-etched choices. There are also options like reflecting glass, lacquered glass in glossy or opaque looks, and more graphic treatments such as wide mesh/grid or fabric effects, plus fluted variations in transparent or acid-etched colored glass. Not every finish is available for every size, so final selection is typically confirmed against the price list.

Comfort in daily use

The experience is intentionally calm. Hydraulic pin hinges control the movement and provide slow automatic closing, so the panel doesn’t snap back or feel nervous. But it still feels responsive in the hand, with a natural swing that suits both private and high-traffic spaces.

The 90° block adds a practical pause point for circulation and planning. And with the no-stop version, the panel keeps moving in either direction, which can make entrances feel less formal and more intuitive.

Placement & lifestyle

Placed as a single door, Sherazade Spin can act as a crisp divider without stealing light. Set two or more panels side by side, and the system can be composed as a partition that opens partially or fully. The result is a space that can shift from open to defined without changing the overall character of the room.

It fits residential settings, studios, and hospitality interiors where transparency matters but privacy still needs options. And the finish range allows it to move from understated to more expressive, depending on the project.

Safety and durability are addressed directly in the glass choices. The glass is certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150, supporting confident use in everyday environments. The aluminum frame and gasketed insertion are straightforward and resilient, designed to keep the assembly stable over time.
