Aladin Slide Mono

About Aladin Slide Mono

Design

Aladin Slide Mono is a sliding door concept by Piero Lissoni that keeps the look clean without feeling cold. The glass is applied to one side of the frame, so one face reads as a single, flush plane. Turn it around and the other face sits slightly back from the aluminum profile, giving a subtle recessed outline.

That simple asymmetry is the point. It lets the door act like a calm architectural surface on one side, while the other side shows a bit more structure. And because it’s glass-first, the finish does most of the talking, from soft to reflective, from transparent to more private.

Materials & build

The frame is aluminum, chosen for its precision and its ability to hold a crisp edge. The glass can be made as a single monolithic tempered panel at 6 mm (about 0.24 in), or as laminated glass at 3+3 mm (about 0.12+0.12 in). Both options keep the profile looking light, while staying appropriate for interior door use.

Glasitalia offers a wide range of glass finishes for Aladin Slide Mono, including acid-etched options, extralight glass, patterned glass, colored transparent glass, fluted glass in transparent or acid-etched colored versions, and lacquered glass in glossy or opaque looks. Some finishes are size-dependent, so availability is best confirmed against the current price list.

Comfort, privacy, and light

Comfort here is mostly visual. Acid-etched finishes soften glare and help spaces feel more relaxed. Transparent and extralight options keep lines open and let light pass through, which can make narrow corridors and smaller rooms feel less compressed.

But the door can also do the opposite when needed. Reflecting finishes and opaque lacquered glass shift the mood toward privacy, creating a stronger boundary without adding heaviness. It’s an easy way to tune a room, depending on how open or contained it should feel.

Placement and configuration

Aladin Slide Mono is designed to work as part of a coordinated sliding system, with multiple rail, handle, and accessory configurations available. Rail options include codes such as BS1, BS2, and BS3, along with variants like BSC1A/B and BSC2A/B. Door and handle selections are also organized by codes, including ASLM for doors and options such as MSS, MSO, MCS, MCC, and MCN for handles.

Accessories are likewise specified by code, including PBSL and related versions. Installation is supported with dedicated assembling instructions for ceiling rails, wall rails, and plasterboard applications, as well as for the doors themselves.

Safety and longevity

All glass is certified to ANSI Z97.1 and UNI EN12150 safety regulations. That matters over time, especially in active spaces where doors are used daily and surfaces need to stay reliable.

With an aluminum frame and certified safety glass options, Aladin Slide Mono from Glasitalia is built for long-term use in refined residential and contract interiors. The door stays visually light, but the construction choices keep it grounded and resilient.
