Pirandello is a writing desk that keeps the room feeling open. The form is clean, almost quiet, and the proportions are carefully judged so it reads light without feeling fragile. Designed by Jasper Morrison, it leans into restraint. And that’s the point: nothing extra, just a clear, confident outline.

The desk’s transparency does a lot of work. It softens visual weight in an office corner, and it lets other pieces share the spotlight. The result is a composed presence that doesn’t try to dominate.

Materials & build

Glasitalia makes Pirandello in transparent extralight glass, tempered for everyday use and thermowelded for a seamless look. The construction feels intentional, with crisp joins and an overall finish that stays refined up close. It is available with a footrest bar in natural ash, a small touch that adds warmth against the glass.

Two sizes are offered. PIR01 measures about 43.3 inches long by 19.3 inches deep by 32.7 inches high. PIR02 measures about 31.5 inches long by 19.3 inches deep by 32.7 inches high.

Comfort

This is a desk that supports a straightforward, focused setup. The height sits in the expected range for writing and laptop work, and the surface feels spacious for daily essentials without encouraging clutter. The optional ash footrest bar adds a comfortable anchor, especially during longer sessions. But the desk still looks light, even with that added detail.

Placement & lifestyle

Pirandello works best in spaces that value clarity. In a home office, it keeps sightlines clean and helps smaller rooms feel less crowded. In a studio setting, it pairs easily with both modern and more classic seating because it doesn’t force a style narrative. The smaller size suits tighter footprints; the longer option gives more breathing room for papers, a lamp, and a few personal objects.

Tempered glass is chosen for resilience, and the thermowelded build helps the piece feel stable and resolved over time. Care is simple and familiar: keep the surface clean and it maintains its sharp, transparent character. Pirandello is not available custom made, and it is offered in quick ship configurations PIR01 and PIR02, so it’s a considered choice that’s also easy to specify.
