About Sybilla
Design
Sybilla is a mirror unit with a clear point of view. Ettore Sottsass gives it presence without making it loud. The crystal mirror reads clean and sharp, and the console table and two lamps turn the piece into more than a simple wall element. It feels composed, almost architectural. And it still keeps a certain ease, like it belongs in daily life, not just on a mood board.
The proportions are generous and vertical, made to hold its own in a room. In the SYB configuration, it measures about 63 inches long, 19.3 inches deep, and 78 inches high. That scale makes the mirror feel immersive, while the console adds a grounded band across the composition.
Materials & build
The mirror is made in crystal mirror, chosen for its clarity and depth. The console table and the two lamps are crafted in pearwood and Alpi veneer, bringing warmth and pattern into the design. It’s not a mix for the sake of contrast. It’s a measured pairing: reflective surface up front, wood tones and grain to soften the look.
The base is in aniline-varnished wood, a finish that lets the material read honestly. Each piece is identified by progressive numbering, a quiet detail that underscores that this is an individual object, not an anonymous run. Sybilla is not available custom made, so what is offered is the exact composition intended.
Comfort
Comfort here is visual and practical. The mirror gives a full, flattering view, and the console table invites the small routines that happen near an entry or dressing area. There’s a place to set things down. There’s light right where it’s needed. And it keeps the zone tidy, even when life isn’t.
The two lamps help the piece feel complete, not add-on. They sit within the unit’s rhythm, so the lighting reads as part of the design rather than an afterthought.
Placement & lifestyle
Placed in a hallway, Sybilla can act as a daily checkpoint before heading out. In a bedroom or dressing space, it becomes a contained station: mirror, surface, and light in one footprint. The depth stays relatively slim for the scale, so it holds presence without taking over circulation.
It also works in more public rooms, where a mirror can open up the space and the wood elements keep it from feeling cold. Glas Italia keeps the overall feel crisp, but the wood makes it easy to live with.
Longevity
Crystal mirror and well-finished wood are materials that age with grace when treated with basic care. The progressive numbering adds a sense of continuity, as if the piece is part of an ongoing series rather than a one-season idea. Sybilla is designed to stay relevant because it’s specific, not trendy. And because it’s complete in itself.
