About Ecco
Design
Ecco is a floorstanding mirror with a clean, graphic presence. A tall plane of extralight glass is framed only by two cylindrical bars at the top and bottom, giving the piece a clear outline without adding bulk. The proportions are generous but narrow, so it reads more like a vertical accent than a heavy furnishing.
Those cylindrical bars bring the personality. Finished in a soft rubber-effect paint, they come in yellow, green, or orange. It’s a simple move that shifts the mirror from strictly architectural to quietly playful, without turning it into a novelty.
Materials & Build
The mirror is made in 12 mm extralight glass, chosen for its clarity and crisp reflection. The upper and lower edges are finished with care, keeping the overall look sharp even when viewed from the side. And the lighting is integrated directly on the mirror, so it stays visually contained rather than feeling like an add-on.
The cylindrical light diffuser is opaline white Murano mouth-blown glass with a satin finish. It softens the LED output and avoids the harshness common to exposed strips. Even the spiral cable is considered: it’s wrapped in colored fabric to match the bar finish, creating a deliberate pairing rather than an afterthought. Switches for on/off and dimming sit on the back of the mirror, kept out of sight.
Light & Everyday Use
Ecco includes a high-quality dimmable LED with excellent color performance, designed to flatter skin tones and materials nearby. The dimmer gives flexibility, from practical brightness to a lower, calmer setting in the evening. But the mirror still works perfectly well as a pure reflective surface, even with the light off.
Placement & Lifestyle
With a footprint of about 26 inches long by 8.7 inches wide, and a height of roughly 80.7 inches, it stands tall without taking over the room. It suits an entryway, dressing area, or bedroom corner where a full-length reflection matters and the integrated light adds convenience. It also works in living spaces, where the color detail can echo nearby accents and the glass can open up sightlines.
Designed by Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby, it has that measured restraint their work is known for: clear geometry, a few precise choices, and nothing extra.
Longevity
Glas Italia’s Ecco is built around materials that hold their look over time: substantial glass, a durable painted finish, and a diffuser made to keep its soft tone. There’s no custom sizing offered, which keeps the design consistent and the details resolved. It’s the kind of piece that stays relevant because it does one job exceptionally well, then adds light exactly where it’s needed.
