Don Cavalletto

About Don Cavalletto

Design

Don Cavalletto is a high table by Jean-Marie Massaud, drawn with a clean, architectural calm. The look is direct: a long, clear plane held by two glass trestles. The chamfered edges add definition without turning it into a statement piece. And because the structure is transparent, the room keeps its sightlines and its light.

The silhouette stays consistent across sizes, so it reads the same whether it’s set up for a larger dining setting or a tighter work zone. It’s a table that doesn’t compete with chairs, art, or views. It simply frames them.

Materials & Build

The top is made from 0.47-inch thick tempered transparent extralight glass, chamfered for a crisp finish. The two supporting trestles are also tempered extralight glass at the same thickness, then glued to create a stable, precise structure. Nothing is hidden, which is part of the point. Every junction is visible, and the build has to be right.

Glasitalia keeps the material palette intentionally narrow here. Just glass, executed with control. Custom-made options are available, allowing the piece to be tailored to the needs of the space without changing its essential character.

Comfort & Daily Use

This table is about ease at the surface. The broad top gives plenty of usable area for place settings, laptops, presentation materials, or a spread of books. The chamfered edge detail helps the glass feel more finished to the touch, not sharp or abrupt.

At roughly 28.35 inches high, it sits comfortably for standard dining or desk-height seating. And the trestle format keeps the base visually light while leaving generous room along the length for chairs to tuck in naturally.

Placement & Lifestyle

Don Cavalletto works best where space and light matter. In an open-plan apartment, it can sit between kitchen and living areas without blocking the flow. In an office setting, it reads as composed and minimal, with a surface that stays visually quiet even when the day gets busy.

Size options cover a wide range, from about 86.61 inches to 118.11 inches in length, with widths around 43.31 inches or 49.21 inches. That flexibility makes it easy to specify for both intimate rooms and longer, more social layouts.

Longevity

Tempered glass is chosen for resilience, and the straightforward construction avoids fussy parts that date quickly. The clarity of extralight glass helps the table feel current over time, even as surroundings change.

With Glasitalia’s Don Cavalletto, the value is in the restraint: a strong idea, executed with discipline. It’s a piece that can move homes, shift roles, and still feel appropriate years later.
