About Crystal table

Design

Philippe Starck keeps the Crystal table crisp and intentional. It’s a round, high table that lets light do most of the work, then adds just enough metal to sharpen the silhouette. The presence is clean, not delicate, and it reads as modern without feeling cold.

From a distance it looks almost seamless. Up close, the details show themselves in a controlled way: a clear top, a clear base, and a restrained glint at the connection points. And that restraint is the point. Nothing fights for attention.

Materials & build

The top is made in transparent glass at 0.75 inches thick, paired with 0.98 inches of tempered transparent glass, UV bonded. The clarity is striking, but the construction is equally considered. Top and base are fixed to each other, yet removable, using a sophisticated system of mirror-polished stainless steel plates.

The hardware is precisely finished, right down to the edges and reflections. Discreet mirror-polished stainless steel feet complete the base and give the table a subtle lift off the floor. Glas Italia keeps the engineering quiet, but it’s clearly doing a lot.

Comfort

This is comfort in the practical sense: easy sightlines, generous leg space, and a height that suits dining without demanding a formal room. At 28.74 inches high, it sits naturally with standard dining seating. The round top also makes conversation feel more relaxed, especially when the setting is intimate.

Glass can feel visually light, and that matters in daily use. The surface doesn’t visually crowd place settings, and it keeps the room from feeling overfurnished. But it still holds its own as a true dining table, not a decorative piece.

Placement & lifestyle

The Crystal table works best where light can move across it. Near a window, under a pendant, or centered in an open-plan space, it stays calm and composed. And because it’s round, it softens layouts that have a lot of straight lines—kitchen runs, cabinetry, or long wall elevations.

Four diameter options cover different rooms and routines: 51.18, 55.12, 59.06, and 62.99 inches, all at the same 28.74-inch height. The table is also available custom made, which keeps it flexible for projects that need exact proportions.

Longevity

Clear materials demand precision, and this table is built with that expectation. Tempered glass and UV bonding support long-term stability, while the stainless steel plates and feet are finished to stay presentable over time. The removable fixing system is a practical advantage too, especially for delivery, moves, or reconfigurations.

For clients who want a dining table that doesn’t date quickly, the Glas Italia Crystal table holds up by staying simple and exacting. It isn’t chasing trends. It’s just well-resolved, and it stays that way.
