XX Console

Design

The XX Console is a clean, graphic piece that reads instantly. Two X forms create the base, giving the silhouette a sense of structure without feeling heavy. The color is part of the design, not an accent: transparent pink and orange glass shifts with the light and changes as the room changes. And because the lines are so direct, the console looks composed from every angle.

Johanna Grawunder keeps the gesture bold but controlled. The top is a simple plane that rests on the base, letting the X motif do the work. Small polished chrome details add a sharper note, a touch of precision against the softness of tinted glass.

Materials & build

This console is made in laminated glass with a 6+6 mm build, roughly 0.47 inches thick. The base uses tempered and laminated glass with special chamfering and careful gluing, so edges feel intentional and the intersections stay crisp. Chrome elements are polished, not brushed, which suits the clarity of the glass and keeps the look bright.

The top leans on the base rather than disappearing into it, which keeps the construction honest. Nothing is overworked, but nothing is casual either.

Everyday use

A console should be simple to live with. Here, the surface feels clean and smooth, while the X base gives visual support without crowding the floor. The proportion is generous for display objects, a lamp, or the daily drop of keys and mail. But it still reads as light, especially in rooms where darker pieces can feel dense.

Placement & lifestyle

In an entry, the color can be the first note of the space. In a living room, it works as a quiet divider behind a sofa or along a wall, adding brightness without asking for a full redesign. The XX Console in the XX03 configuration measures about 68.9 inches long, 15.7 inches deep, and 35.0 inches high, so it has presence but stays slim.

It feels at home in modern interiors, yet it can also sharpen more classic settings with a little contrast. And because the glass is transparent, it plays well with art and textiles nearby.

Longevity

Glas Italia builds this piece around resilient materials: tempered, laminated glass and polished metal. The finish is meant to keep its clarity over time, and the form doesn’t rely on fragile details. The XX Console is not available custom made. The XX03 version is offered as quick ship, which makes it easier to specify when timing matters.
