About Kazimir console

Design

Kazimir is a console with a clear point of view: clean planes, sharp alignment, and a calm sense of structure. Designed by Michael Anastassiades, it reads almost like a drawing brought into the room. The form is rigorous, but it never feels cold. And because the composition is made from interlocked, overlapping sheets, the piece has depth without needing ornament.

In the glasitalia Kazimir collection, the language stays consistent across shelves, low tables, and bookcases. This console keeps that same disciplined geometry, scaled for an entry, a living space, or behind a sofa. The result is quiet and sculptural, with nothing extra competing for attention.

Materials & Build

The entire piece is made from 10 mm tempered glass, offered in green or extra-clear, with double-sided acid-etched finishing. The surface has a soft, matte look that takes the edge off reflections and gives the glass a more tactile presence. It still feels crisp, just less flashy.

Each sheet is bonded using a UV method that allows the planes to meet with precision. There’s an intentional honesty to the construction: what looks like a simple stack is actually carefully interlocked. Kazimir is not available custom made, so the proportions are exactly as designed.

Everyday Use

A console needs to behave well in daily life. Kazimir does that through clarity and restraint. The etched glass helps fingerprints and glare feel less noticeable than on high-polish glass, especially in bright spaces. But it still reads as glass, with all the lightness that implies.

There’s also a sense of visual comfort. The overlapping layers create order, so objects placed on top look composed rather than scattered. It’s an easy piece to style and to live with.

Placement & Lifestyle

Configuration KAZ07 measures 48.8 inches long, 13.0 inches wide, and 36.2 inches high. It’s a slim footprint, which makes it useful in tighter corridors, behind seating, or as a pared-back display surface in an open plan room. And because the body is glass, it won’t visually crowd the space.

Paired with ceramics, books, or a single lamp, the console holds its own. It also works well against textured walls or darker finishes, where the etched surface can read as a subtle, deliberate contrast.

Longevity

Tempered glass is chosen for a reason: it’s resilient for everyday settings and maintains its clarity over time. The UV-bonded joints are integral to the design, keeping the structure clean and stable without visible hardware.

Kazimir asks for a bit of care, as any glass piece does, but it rewards that care with a consistent look year after year. It stays sharp, calm, and considered, exactly as glasitalia intended.
