L.A. Sunset

About L.A. Sunset

Design

L.A. Sunset is a low, round table with a clear point of view. The silhouette is simple: a clean circle held by a tubular metal frame. But the surface changes everything. Color drifts across the top in layered tones that seem to merge and separate, more like fluid than glass. And because the color sits on a mirrored background, the table catches light in a way that feels active, not shiny for the sake of it.

Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the piece balances graphic structure with a top that reads almost like a moving image. It stays quiet in form, then surprises up close.

Materials & build

The base is tubular metal, finished in a special metallic opaque paint. It comes in midnight blue or copper, both chosen to look rich without looking loud. The construction feels precise and intentional, keeping the profile light while still giving the table a strong outline.

The top is laminated glass with a mirrored back. That mirror layer is what gives the colors their lift and brightness, letting tones blend and shift depending on where the light hits. It’s a considered mix of industrial structure and high-finish surface work, typical of glasitalia when it’s at its most confident.

Comfort & use

This is a table meant to live close to the seating, at an easy height for everyday reach. The round shape makes it friendly to move around, and it keeps circulation open in tighter seating layouts. But it also holds its own in larger rooms because the top carries so much visual depth.

Placement & lifestyle

Two sizes set the tone. LAS01 measures about 31.1 inches in diameter and 15.7 inches high. LAS02 opens up to about 37.0 inches in diameter and 13.8 inches high. Either can sit centered in front of a sofa, or slightly off-axis beside a lounge chair for a more relaxed arrangement.

The mirrored color field pairs well with understated upholstery, warm woods, and stone. It also looks sharp against darker palettes, especially when the base is chosen in midnight blue. L.A. Sunset is not available custom made, so the look stays exactly as intended.

Longevity

The combination of metal frame and laminated glass is built for regular living. The finish choices keep the base looking composed, while the mirrored background brings light back into the room day after day. It’s a piece that doesn’t need styling tricks. It earns attention through material, proportion, and the way it changes as the room changes.
