About Kooh-I-Noor tavoli
Design
Kooh-I-Noor tavoli is an ovaloid low table that keeps the room feeling open. The silhouette is soft but not casual, with a clean line that reads modern without trying too hard. And because the form is simple, the details do the work: the top and feet are finished with crisp facetings that catch light in a quiet way.
There’s a sense of intention in the proportions. At roughly 55.5 inches long, 38.6 inches wide, and 11.8 inches high, it sits low and composed, with enough surface area to hold everyday objects without dominating the seating around it. Designed by Piero Lissoni, the piece leans into restraint and lets the geometry speak.
Materials & build
The table is made in transparent extralight glass, with a substantial 15 mm thickness, about 0.6 inches. Extralight glass keeps the look clearer and less tinted than standard clear glass, so the shape stays sharp and the edges feel more precise to the eye.
The facetings are achieved through special chamferings of the glass. That finishing is not decoration for its own sake; it gives definition to the top and feet and adds a tailored outline when light moves across the surface. Kooh-I-Noor tavoli from Glas Italia is not available custom made, so the design arrives exactly as intended, with the proportions and detailing fixed.
Everyday use
This is a coffee table that feels effortless to live with. The ovaloid top is friendly for a living room layout because it avoids hard corners, and it gives a natural center to the seating area. But it still looks crisp, thanks to the faceted edges.
Transparent glass keeps the view across the room uninterrupted. It makes books, ceramics, and everyday essentials feel curated without asking for constant styling. The surface reads clean and calm, even when it’s doing its job.
Placement & lifestyle
Kooh-I-Noor tavoli suits spaces that value clarity: a tailored city apartment, a light-filled family room, or a more architectural setting where materials are meant to stand on their own. It works especially well near textured upholstery, natural rugs, and warmer woods, where the glass provides contrast without competing.
And it’s an easy piece to pair with other finishes. The transparency lets nearby materials take the lead, while the chamfered facetings add just enough structure to feel considered.
Longevity
A 15 mm glass top and matching feet bring a confident sense of solidity. The faceted, chamfered detailing keeps the edges looking intentional over time, even as the table becomes part of daily routines.
Care is straightforward: keep the surface clear, wipe regularly, and let the clean geometry stay visible. In the long run, the appeal is in the discipline of the design, not in trends that fade.
